Leadership Profiles
Meet the professionals behind Clarus Visum Consulting Services, bringing practical experience in border commerce, economic development, and cross-border strategy.
Teresa Hernandez
Teresa Hernandez is from the border city of Rivera, Uruguay. She moved to Dallas, Texas, in the early 1980s. After attending a two-year community college, she worked with several Spanish-language local radio stations and held a variety of roles in the radio industry, including delivering morning news and weather.
In the early 2000s, Teresa founded her own real estate company, where she continues to work as a broker. She helps small Spanish-speaking builders solve problems and keep their businesses moving by connecting them with capital, offering encouragement, and guiding them through city and county policies, programs, and regulations. In response to a clear need, she also teaches residential code and zoning courses for builders.
Lorenzo Villa Jr
Lorenzo Villa Jr. is from El Paso, Texas, and is a graduate of UTEP. He has lived in Dallas since 1996 and served in the U.S. Air Force in the early 1980s. Together with Teresa, he created bordercommerce.com and co-authored Build This Wall, drawing on their border experience to propose economic development approaches to border security.
Lorenzo currently works in the City of Dallas Development Services Department and has spent more than 15 years in code compliance. He conducts research and mapping for Teresa’s consulting company, supporting practical analysis and informed cross-border planning.
